On the move, one of those days of perfect beating, 30 AWA, cooking NNE at 6kts with our little genoa, one of those days of intense pleasure, even if we’re beat... Getting some more sleep these last couple of nights, back to doing yoga (or some new swinging, bucking version) in the morning. We stopped into Moraira to fill the tank and an extra 20 liter can with diesel and sailed out past the rock head walls of Cabo de la Nao... direction HOME. We had our crossing favorite: rice cooked in tomatos, beans, onions, garlic, ginger and carrots - heavy but solid for the long haul. Dominique gave me the recipe, Dominique who just hit the Cape Verdi islands after 25 days at sea from Cape Town. Now its dark and we’re back in the shipping lanes with the cargos, the containerships, the ferries... tracking the CPAs and haggling over the VHF. We’re in light winds over a steep swell throwing us all over the place - miss the powerhouse 135%. Anne left Paris tonight to come and meet us, oh boy oh boy. Time to go to sleep, the engine is so loud I have to take the mike up in the cockpit to haggle over the VHF, but we all seem to sleep right through it. Oh, and the weather files I was getting in the Atlantic were pretty close to the reality, the ones for the Med are totally off - all of them.
